I grew up with a deep connection to a place in south-central Montana, a region where you can still find wild country and walk through the stillness of the natural world. My relationship with that Place has shaped my life and taught me much.
My connection with Montana’s wildlands lies at the heart of my studies and musings about the relationships between human culture and wild nature, the connections between people and Place. Beyond Montana, I have embedded myself in a few other places that have broadened my perspectives on the human niche in the greater-than-human community of life.
